Bought GE Profile washer and dryer 6 months ago they were so loud we could not stand it sold them for NEXT TO NOTHING glad they are gone Speed Queens are so quite wide had to turn the drier off to make sure washer was running.

I don't love it like my speed queen washer

I'm trying to love this dryer like I love my speed queen tc5 washer, but love is too strong a word for this dryer. first I noticed steam water on the floor in front, I read trouble shooting, it said incorrect size loads, well it didn't matter what size loads, I had to pull it away from the back wall another foot to stop most that, good thing we're skinny to fit through the walk, I didn't know it would need that much space. Second I've always needed 40 minutes to dry a full load, there is only 30 mins. or 60 mins. no in between which I thought I could put in between, but you can't. Auto sensing under dries, and even extended tumble with 30 mins under dries, so unless I babysit it, the laundry is either too wet, or over dried with slight smell of burnt. Third the door was a little crooked upon delivery, and it's kind of flimsy, but I don't think it effects function. But it does dry, that's one of the main important things to me, along with lasting. All I know is I hope it just last a lot longer than other brands like I expect, I can deal with the imperfections, just long as it last like a good 20 years like I expect, my speed queen washer already has out lasted others, and I love how it operates, so hopefully my dryer does too, I don't mind checking for dryness, and being skinny.

Worth the money. Classic and simple. Ready for this to last and last. Minus one star only because on all cycles it dries just a hair shy of fully dried. Slight dampness on the auto sensing. Requires me to give it another 5-10 for fully dry.

Had it two weeks and motor had to be replaced

I had the dryer for two weeks and it started making a thumping noise and dryer settings weren't working properly. I had to have motor and a control board replaced. I had a speed queen dryer and this was replacing the old dryer I had for almost 15 years. I was happy with speed queen products. I'm not very happy with the dryers.

The pro's.. The Speed Queen Electric Dryer works very well when it comes to drying clothes. My needs are pretty basic, 1 load per week, no additional users in the house so it fits perfectly with what I wanted. It's quiet and dries clothes very well. The negatives. Unfortunately the rotary dial that is used to set time and cycles of drying does not seem to move at all in the timed drying setting. It moves in the other settings, but will run way longer than I need, so I just open it up and the clothes are dry with time left on the dial. Overall I like the brand and the model but for the price I paid I think it should work as advertised. Made in the USA is a positive !

I love the simplicity of choices for drying cycles, but the combination of Delicate, Dry & AutoSense requires TWO cycles to achieve dry clothes. Despite reading the manual and a service call, the clothes are always Less Dry after the initial cycle; it takes a second cycle using the same setting results in Dry clothes. This dryer went "berserk" the first day I used it and required a new dryer board. I've always wondered if it that replacement computer part is the issue with my Delicate loads.

38 year old Maytag Replacement

We recently replaced our 38 year old Maytag dryer after its untimely demise with a Speed Queen DR300WE based on Speed Queen excellent reputation and were not disappointed. The SQ dryer is more energy efficient, quicker drying time, and almost silent when in use. Sure wish it had a alert (buzzer) when it is drying is complete.

I bought this because I was told it would last for a long time. The light burned out right away-I forgot that it was supposed to have one. The timer got "stuck" and wouldn't turn off-went all night once. When I called for repair they also said it needed a drum roller kit and timer for over $600.
