I am happy with the deyer except for the auto sensing feature. My assumption was that it would sense when the load was dry. It does not do that on every load. The technician explained why and I now understand. I just think if it says auto sensing, it should do just that with the load being dry. Also, the cycle complete notification should have an adjustment so it can be louder. Unless you are very close to the machine, it can't be heard. This is also a concern with the washer. I shouldn't have to listen (pay attention to) whether the cycles are complete. It would be nice if the "end of cycle" did that. Thank you

I purchased a Speed Queen dryer (I also have the washer) due to its reputation for longevity. I hope this holds true. My last dryer (whirlpool) lasted 26 years. I'm not crazy about the auto sensing feature. I had the technician come who said you need to be sure the weight of the items are similar in order for it to spin and dry correctly. Better results now. I also miss on my old dryer the feature where you can choose the amount of time you want to dry. This provides either 30 or 60 minute options. That said, my clothes are dry. If it lasts me 26 years I will be more than happy with it.

Thumpity Bump Bump Dryer Sound

It's a loud dryer. It dries good except on delicate. I love the Extended Tumble for my bed quilt. 7 cu ft drum. It's a commercial dryer but makes a loud thumping noise when drying but after awhile it gets quiet. You have to dry big bulky items separately to keep them from rolling up. Hasxswceral arthritis friendly knobs on it. Energy saver. It has a switch on the panel that you litely touch to activate the drying cycles. Blue lights illuminate the cycles. Other than the bumping noise; I loved it. The dryer door is hard to open. You have to use force to open and close it. Very expensive. The store I bought it from doesn't do extended warranties which worries me. The sales lady said after the warranty period they would provide repair services with them paying half and me paying half.

At first I was not happy with the dryer. Clothes coming out of the washer were more wrinkled than from my 30 year old Maytag . It has become a learning experience as to what dry selection to use. I was happy with nearly dry so it wouldn't shrink my rayon pants. I like the 30 and 60 minute selection; however, I think 45 minutes would be perfect (I saw that the Maytag has a 45 minute selection). The light is nice. I wish there was a loud buzzer to let you know the dryer was complete.

I am a huge fan of this brand and love their washer. The dryer is performing very poorly for me and I am appalled at Speed Queen's unwillingness to solve the issue and frankly, their lack of disclosure about this machine. It took multiple requests from me to them to get a repair person out. They not only would not even consider replacing the machine which I had only had for 1 week - they also flatly refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor or anyone in higher management at any time. Multiple Customer service reps told me it is their policy to never allow customers to speak to management directly. That is a HUGE RED FLAG for me. The Auto-Sensor function DOES NOT WORK. The machine shuts itself off after only a few minutes leaving clothes completely wet. After 4 rounds of repair visits they finally declared that the length of my dryer vent is the problem because the machine is so "powerful" it needs more air thru a short vent. If true, that should be disclosed before you buy the machine. So now I am stuck with this lemon.

I love my new dryer. There was nothing wrong with the speed queen dryer I had. We decided to go gas with our new dryer and omg does it dry clothes faster! I will tell you what I know. Speed queen is the only brand to buy if you want a great appliance. We put 10 years on the last one with no issues, and we have a large family. Large Famly equals a lot of clothes. Would give it 100 stars

This dryer has all the drying options that I need. I really like the Near Dry energy saving option. My laundry is never over dried in this dryer. My clothes come out less wrinkled than in my old machine and they are not hot when the dryer stops. The light makes it easy to see inside the dryer. Also my electric bill is a little less, than before, which I appreciate. I also purchased the matching washer, which is easy to use and does a much better job than the combination washer/dryer that this set replaced. The length of warranty is amazing.

From the time the dryer was delivered and hooked up by the delivery people, the dryer made a loud noise when turned on. They said, run it for 30 min. and it will go away. It's just been sitting in the warehouse a while. Well, the noise didn't go away. We called where we purchased it and told them we would like a new dryer. They said no, I'll give you a number of a service person to call to come look at it. We don't take returns, that's why you have a warranty. We called the service people and they came out. Had to pull the drum out among other parts. He had to order parts and come back to install them. Not a very good start for paying top dollar for supposedly a top-quality brand. They should have replaced it since they were there and heard the noise. So far, the dryer is working as it should. Wish you could purchase an extended warranty through Speed Queen.

Clothes are damp when the auto dry goes off. Clothes are damp when the 30 minute dry ends. I have turn the dryer on, check my clock for 40 minutes and manually cut machine off. Clothes are dry, but disappointed that the machine doesn't time and cut off. I have had cheap dryers that dryed and cut off. Paid too much money to get a quality product that does not let you set the time and cuts itself off. Very disappointed!!!

We're hoping this Speed Queen dryer works as well and efficiently as their washer that we purchased 3 years ago. So far, we are very pleased with the dryer. It has fewer and simpler settings compared to our previous dryer and it has taken a bit of time to get used to that. We usually prefer that our clothes are left partially dried, not fully dried, and we have now figured out how to achieve that. Our sense is that the Speed Queen dries our clothes more quickly than our last dryer and we are happy with that.

I'm trying to love this dryer like I love my speed queen tc5 washer, but love is too strong a word for this dryer. first I noticed steam water on the floor in front, I read trouble shooting, it said incorrect size loads, well it didn't matter what size loads, I had to pull it away from the back wall another foot to stop most that, good thing we're skinny to fit through the walk, I didn't know it would need that much space. Second I've always needed 40 minutes to dry a full load, there is only 30 mins. or 60 mins. no in between which I thought I could put in between, but you can't. Auto sensing under dries, and even extended tumble with 30 mins under dries, so unless I babysit it, the laundry is either too wet, or over dried with slight smell of burnt. Third the door was a little crooked upon delivery, and it's kind of flimsy, but I don't think it effects function. But it does dry, that's one of the main important things to me, along with lasting. All I know is I hope it just last a lot longer than other brands like I expect, I can deal with the imperfections, just long as it last like a good 20 years like I expect, my speed queen washer already has out lasted others, and I love how it operates, so hopefully my dryer does too, I don't mind checking for dryness, and being skinny.

I had a speed queen dryer and this was replacing the old dryer I had for almost 15 years. I was happy with speed queen products. I'm not very happy with the dryers.
