This is my 2ND dryer

I could not wait to get my 2ND new speed queen dryer. I finally get one and when they leave it would not dry clothes. We called it took 3 weeks to get the proper replacement parts and get them installed. It works great now. I had to either hangs them up wet or take clothes elsewhere to dry them. No body contacted us for any rembursment during this time of warranty for 7 years for our time and inconvience. waiting on a fix of a new appliance. Yes if it works I would recommend to anyone but when I purchase and 3 weeks of my warranty has gone the day I get it home I am now left with a warranty of 6 years and 49 weeks before the repairs were finished.

Overall love the new dryer. Quieter than our last unit and very intuitive. Only complaint so far is we like to run our clothes on Low, and the only sensor option is delicates. If we run full dry, delicates the sensor doesn't do a great job of actually getting it fully dry if there is any combination of towels and clothes. Usually just need to run it a few more minutes on a timed dry after. Hoping to narrow in on another setting we like that can get it consistently dry in one go.

Disappointed but still learning

I am disappointed with the dryer's ability to sense the moisture in the clothes. When using the regular sensing and near dry option, it would shut off early. It is also noisy and squeaky. Contacted customer service a repair person looked it and they called Speed Queen for assistance. Recommendation was to keep using that setting and it would stay on longer. It is slowly increasing in minutes. Since the dryer is close to our family room, it makes it harder to her the tv. I do like the anti-static and steam option.

Only had the dryer (and companion TR washer) a little over a month, but so far everything is great and very pleased with my purchase. Used the online recommendation of getting wool dryer balls and noticed clothes, sheets and towels come out softer and less wrinkled. The large door and lit interior make it easy to load and unload (and not leave anything behind).

Poor delivered quality

On the first usage on the day of delivery. The dryer would only work on the manual settings, all other settings were non-operative. And when first turned on the dryer makes a very loud banging noise which lasts for about 30 seconds then after about 10 minutes in quiets down to a normal sound. I called speed queen help line and they set up a repair technician appointment. It was discovered to have a defective control board. A new board had to be ordered, along with a overlay. As far as the loud banging noise goes, both the repair tech and the speed queen representative said it's normal. That this machine has soft rollers that develop flat spots and has to run for a while to smooth out those flat areas. It took a month to get the parts and fix the dryer. (note) I own the matching washer which has been great, so I was surprised at the poor quality of this machine.

I absolutely love this dryer except for one thing. After two months of use, the dryer continues to have a terrible odor. It smells as if someone left a rotting submarine sandwich (hero, hoagie) in the dryer when it was being assembled. I have tried wiping it out numerous times with a soft cloth and mild liquid soap detergent. Nothing has helped!

Error n5 after two months of purchase

My dryer stopped working after just two months, displaying an error code N5 and making loud noises. I have been waiting for warranty service for three weeks and still have no scheduled appointment. This has been a huge disappointment. Given the price and the high quality this brand is known for, I expected to have no issues for at least the next ten years, but that hasn't been the case. I would not recommend this product.

The Speed Queen DR7 dryer is a very good heavy duty commercial grade dryer, it even includes a steam feature. The quality of this dryer is second to none. Speed Queen construction is the reason we purchased this dryer, the features are an added bonus. We ended up purchasing the DR7 dryer in matte black because the white finish was 4 to 9 weeks out, because these units are in a laundry room I was not concerned with the different color/finish of the dryer and the washer.

This is by far the best dryer I have ever owned or used. Capacity really surprised me, the inside is huge. The DR7 Dryer is excellent. It is important to remember the sensor bars inside should be clean when you set the dryer up for the first time. Once that is done, it will dry perfectly every time. We have already used the "steam options" either stand alone or with normal dry; that is so nice and makes the clothes truly wrinkle free, particularly from damage caused by a previous GE/Hotpoint washer. The ability to have "custom settings" by creating your own "favorite" drying cycle and settings is a major time saver. For example, if you wash two weeks of cotton underwear along with super thick heavy crew socks, a "favorite" setting will dry perfectly without damaging the elastic waist bands and still get the thick heavy crew socks dry.
