We are very happy with our new cook top. We like the grate configuration as it provides a large stable area for pots or frying pans to sit on and we like the simmer burner. The controls are located at the front for easy access. We also like the tip up grates for easy cleaning. It's a real eye catcher! If I would make one suggestion- it would be to move the grate down closer to the burner. I feel there is a lot of wasted heat and energy as a lot of heat moves around the pot rather than concentrating on the bottom. The wasted heat is felt if stirring a pot and is very noticeable on your hand. I feel heat and energy is being wasted (unlike our old Kitchen Aid of 28 years) Thanks Ken and Sheila

I have sold Whirlpool products at retail and owned these appliances personally for years. I certainly shopped other brands from very high end to budget level. I kept returning to the 36 inch gas five burner Whirlpool cooktop. Sleekest look, best burner configuration, and great hinged burner lift away grates. I prepare cuisines from around the world in the authentic cookware required and I am very glad that I remained loyal to Whirlpool.
