Good hardware but...

I bought this range a couple of months ago and have been happy with the gas stovetop and oven features, especially how many options there are to use in the oven (warming, baking, broiling, etc). However, the "smart" features leave much to be desired. The app is clunky and ONLY WORKS WITH ONE USER (what?!), and it took multiple tries and much frustration to connect the range to the WiFi. Sometimes the touch screen has a delay or doesn't register a touch which results in us pressing the option multiple times or going back to the home screen to start over. Overall, it could be a stellar product, but it's not quite there yet!

Nice Stove but.....

This is my first gas stove and was pleased that it was easy to adjust to. The grate is very nice and like the griddle that comes with for oval burner. Nice that it is WI-fi. The but comes in on two features I feel were poor design. The knobs you can not read as the the high,med, low are very narrow and small. There is a little overhang edge from cooktop and it makes them so hard to read. These knobs should be redesigned so that the level of heat can be seen. But the biggest flaw I feel is in the cooktop panel. If you wipe a spill of the top of panel while baking, it will turn off the oven and give you no indication that you have turned it off. The only thing that will tip you off is that the flames will be gone.. There is a control lock on panel but its function is to lock so no one can use oven. Ok don't know why anyone would use that, but it should be that you lock the panel so one couldn't accidentally turn off oven by wiping up spills, or touching the panel and hitting the "x" accidentally. Would have given stove a 5 rating because I love whirlpool appliances but 2 big flaws I feel need to be corrected for owners of this stove

Touch Screen Doesn't Work

The touch screen functions less than 50% of the time. It is unresponsive to the touch and freezes most of the time. I work with computers, so I set up the WIFI and have had to run the oven through the Whirlpool App. This is also a pain because, although you can turn on things, like the kitchen timer, in the App, to turn them off you have to press "Dismiss" on the touch screen. So once on, the timer buzzes every few minutes and one cannot turn it off without unplugging the range. After the "re-set" you pray the screen decides to work so you can scroll down on the settings panel to set up the WIFi again. The touch screen technology is simply awful. If the App could be used for all oven funtions, at least there would be a back-up when the touchscreen fails- but the App needs vast improvements as well.

Very Dangerous!

The front control knobs are easily turned on by mistake. You can simply brush by the range and barely touch the knobs and they spin on releasing free gas into your home. Also if you are reaching up to the over the range microwave/exhaust fan and touch the knobs they will spin on. This has happened to us several times with several different people. The latest issue was when my kids were home with their grandmother and she had used the microwave and not knowing turned on the knobs. Her sense of smell is not great and the house filled up with gas with my 1 year old and 3 year old. We make sure the kids do not touch the knobs but if they did they could easily be turned on even by my 1 year old. This incident could have easily blown up my house, it took several hours to get the natural gas fumes out of the house. I have called Whirlpool and the customer service specialist told me there were not any safety notations for this model range. I disagree because on the Lowes website as well as this Whirlpool website there are numerous comments about the the ease of the control knobs being accidently turned on and how dangerous it is. We have turned off the gas to the range and are going to replace it. We have only had it 1 year. We will loose money, but the safety concerns with this range are not worth it. This is a terrible design and has some sever safety issues. I will be uploading a video showing an example of how the knobs are easily turned on.

Piece of garbage - don't waste your money!!

I have had this oven for about 10 months and it's the biggest piece of garbage I've ever had. The thing froze with an hourglass symbol on the touch screen and has been unusable for other a month. Apparently, no one has the part to fix it and the part costs over $800!! Image buying something and in under a year you get a repair bill that costs almost HALF of what you paid for! So disappointing, customer service is terrible as well. I will NEVER be buying Whirpool garbage again!

We love this gas range with one exception. My wife is only 5'-2" and with the placement of the burner controls on the front when she reaches for items on the rear burner she ends up leaning against the controls and turns on other burners.

Beautiful, but I hate the touch screen.

I've had this range for a little over a year, I love the way it looks, & was really excited about all of the features it has.. however, it resets every time something drops, splashes, lightly touches the touch screen, so it doesn't keep time.. it turns off if something splashes the touch screen while it's cooking, it resets the clock & turns off the oven/pushes unwanted buttons every time you wipe it down to clean it. We have had the touch screen freeze several times, & won't unfreeze until the breaker is flipped. Sometimes the steam from cooking on the range will cause the oven to turn off while something is cooking, so you'll go to take out your dinner, only to realize it isn't done, because it's so sensitive that it turns itself off. I absolutely hate this range, & wish I wouldn't have spent the money on it.

Great Looking Gas Stove

This is a great looking gas stove. I like how the cooking grates can be lifted for cleaning purposes. It is a convection oven which gives you the flexibility to bake however you want. The only drawback, well there are 2 actually ... the control panel on the top front is WAY too sensitive and can be inadvertently turned on or off during normal cooking use, it gets too easily splattered, and the black top is ridiculously impossible to keep clean. I love cooking with gas, but should've purchased a glass top stove this time around.

Love the fifth burner

This item includes a five burner range. The fifth burner is a long, oval one with a flat grill on top (included). This is great for grilling anything. I love the convection functionality. Things cook so much faster and the oven converts regular baking to convection, so it's easy to use.

Great stove - except...

We bought this stove on the strength of Whirlpool's reputation to replace our ten year old Kenmore piece of junk. First time we attempted to use the convection oven the fan began making noise and blew the breaker. Repairman arrived two days later to diagnose the problem and ordered the part. He replaces the fan assembly a week later and it now works silently. It really is a very good unit otherwise - burner top is very powerful. Boils water for pasta very quickly and the wok burner is terrific. The center grill is also great - just be prepared to clean up under the grates afterward (the hinged grates make this easier but will not open all the way if you have a microwave above it). The racks in the oven are exceptionally strong and easy to adjust. Remember to lower the temperature by 25 degrees F when using the convection feature. Were it not for the fan SNAFU I would have given this unit 5 stars but that should have been caught in Quality Control. The stove was also easy to install once I got the right kit from Lowes.

our old Whirlpool Gold gas slide-in range needed replacing because of a fried ERC and touch pad. This range with its smart features was our choice. I really like the hinged cast iron grates for cleaning and having a 5th burner with a griddle. Also I appreciate the smart feature controls on my phone even though I thought I wouldn't use it. Just the oven timer notifications alone are worth it!

Love the oven

I've had the range about 3 weeks now. I love the oven size. The size of the burners work well too .One two things not liking is the smart technology on the top for the simple fact when I wipe down the oven it is turning everything off and on even with the control lock set the wiping still makes it open sometimes. The timer isn't very loud as well. Things I'm learning to work around.

Really looks good in our kitchen. The multiple burners allow up to heat up large items fast and simmer smaller items slowly. The bottom drawer could be a bit deeper, but having a larger oven is an acceptable tradeoff.

She's pretty, but...

I bought this range almost a year ago. It looks really nice, I just wish it cooked as good as it looks. The oven never seems to be the actual temp that it says it is. The "frozen bake" technology is a joke, it takes a lot longer to cook anything from frozen solid, so be prepared. The "hydro-clean technology" is a joke as well...it doesn't clean anything. The convection setting never works for me like it claims either, i'm guessing because the temp is never right. We've had to replace the control panel already...it went completely blank. Thank goodness the oven wasn't on when it decided to stop working, I would not have been able to turn it off. The app is a complete mess. It hardly recognizes anything you scan. So forget about scanning anything to set the oven...you have to go in and manually set it. The 5th burner is nice, if you're not cooking anything else...there's no room for more pans. And if you have children, DO NOT buy this stove unless you child proof the knobs...it's soooo easy to accidentally turn them on. I've done it many times by just brushing against them. Honestly, if I had to buy again, I wouldn't buy this range. I would buy a less expensive model...all the things I was excited about, I can't use. It was a total waste of money.

Light burned out, Glass cover over light extremely tight, Had to use a jar opener to gain enough leverage, Grate on top is warped, Sheet metal on sides of range extremely thin and you have to careful in handling. Oven works great, center burner top works great for eggs, pancakes, etc.

Overkill and weird burner layout

I really wanted to like this stove. It looks nice. It came new with the house we bought. But, I don't like the burner layout, both large burners are up front and I like to use the smaller burner every day. I also am nit happy with the touch screen. It don't work well (can't swipe up) every time and when I wipe it off, I turn on/off feature. I don't see the pin that of a touchscreen screen on an oven. Last complaint: the kitchen timer alarm is a song and we often miss it.

AquaLift Self Clean

I bought this a month ago and still getting used to all the features. Such as adjusting the settings on the burners to lower settings than my previous stove and utilizing the convection oven feature. I do wish I would have purchased white instead of black as it really stands out in the kitchen and the black is more different for cleaning as it smears and only products like windex make it look good.

I am a year in, this oven cooks very slow. Almost like it isn't retaining the heat. The grates are spaced to far apart. Smaller pans do not sit flat on the top. Cleaning the top is a pain, I wish it had a removable inlay under the grates, around the burners. It's als ver loud.Wouldn't purchase again. Very disappointed!

Nice Range but…

Don't get me wrong. The range is great but after only one week it is not working. Not only did the touch screen lock up there is more of a safety issue. At least with my unit. Exactly one week after installing the range. It randomly re-booted (touch screen) after that it was totally frozen. So, I figured I would turn the circuit breaker off. Now when it reboots the oven turns on and starts to preheat. This is very alarming if not straight up dangerous. What if the power goes off and on due to a storm and no one is home. I have contacted Whirlpool and they are sending someone out in a few days but the fact of the mater is my new range is already having major issues. Will update after the fix.

EZ to Lift grates are great.

The bottom drawer is a bit flimsy. The chime for the oven pre-heat is too quiet - hard to tell if it's pre-heated unless your standing right next to it. Love the style & matches all of my other Whirlpool appliances. Sleek look.

Beautiful but not practical

Oven temperature isn't consistent even after calibration. Stovetop is hard to keep clean. Have to disassemble every time. Only one simmer burner. The other three burners are so big the flame doesn't fit to the bottom of my pots, just the pans. The quick broil burner isn't quick at all. The griddle is a waste. It's small and if you do use it, again it's a mess to clean up the rest of the stove top. The oven takes forever to cool off and I know this because a loud cooling fan runs until it's completely cooled. Our Whirlpool built in oven has the same loud running fan. The look of the stove is beautiful but I wouldn't buy it again for said reasons.

I love the look of this stove in my recently updated kitchen. The removable grates make it easy to keep the stovetop clean. Two things I don't like: can't use the timer independently of the oven (to the best of my knowledge) and when I am cleaning the control panel, just wiping my dish cloth across it activates the touch control menu. Wish there was a one-touch lock-out to prevent that.
