Fantastic Replacement!

My old Whirlpool microwave died after 14 years. I replaced it with this one. Install was a breeze. And this one has so many new features and a new keypad. Plus although the exterior dimensions are the same, the interior is actually almost 20% bigger. I am very impressed with this new microwave oven.

Only 4 years old and died

I am sad to have my microwave die after only 4 yrs. I liked it fine when it ran, but this past week it stopped heating food. The light comes on, the turntable runs, but no luck with getting the food hot. Guess I need to purchase a new one. I looked at the troubleshooting section, but if the part is at least $60, and I pay someone to come out, now I have half the cost of a new one invested. I've always been a loyal fan of Whirlpool and now I'm bummed.

Light is in the wrong place

I just installed our new over the range microwave. There were two problems. 1. Light light is located in the rear of the microwave. It lights up the back two burners on the stove, but two front burners are dark. Why in tar nations would you put a light way in back of the unit. Our old unit had it in the middle so you see all burners which makes sense. 2. The light was so bad I put a LED light in place of the one it came with. The lighting is much better, but still dark on the front burners. Also after installing the LED I couldn't shut off the light. It goes from high to medium to low. There is no off. It stays on all the time. Other then that it is a good unit and it means just getting use to it.

1st ,it took over a month to get to the store. Was told a DIFFERANT date and info. Each time we called. Finally , the store himself called Whirlpool and it came in ( almost ) 2 weeks later. IT has 2 dents in it because of poor assembly. IT takes , almost , twice as long to heat anything. From our last whirlpool microwave , and our last GE microwave. IT has almost , NO , sound when the time is up. WE HAD TO DRILL NEW WHOLES IN THE CABINET ( AGAIN. ). The display board is so poorly displayed , you have to have all of the lights on in the kitchen to find what the board says.

Adequate microwave..

Microwave works fine...but with the stovetop light at the back of unit instead of the front, I cannot see very well to cook on the front burners of my glass top stove. Contacted Whirlpool customer service for suggestions on what I could add that wouldn't fall off and crack my glass top/or void my warranty...and they were totally disinterested. Will think twice before buying another whirlpool product

We replaced a Maytag .microwave with the Whirlpool. Easy to do as they are identical and the bracket and screw holes were compatible, so no new drilling or measuring. My only complaint is that the some of the stenciling on the control panel is so light it is almost unreadable.

I have had the previous model for nine years. It finally broke down. I purchased the same model version a month ago and love it. Some features were upgraded and they are good. I am disappointed in the placement of the start stop controls which were reversed. Otherwise it is a great replacement.

Tried to find the comparable replacement for my 11 year old Whirlpool Microwave but was disappointed with the appliance that I ordered. The control panel is small and difficult to read, the lighting over the stove is at the back of the unit and illuminates the wall instead of the stove burners, the interior is gray, instead of white, and the interior light is dim.
