I am having a hard time getting used to the new fe

My old refrigerator was 32 yrs. old and I am having trouble getting used to the new features. (ex. the shelves on the door are twice as big as my old one and the shelves inside are smaller. Not enough room for fresh vegetables and not enough room for fresh meats) but will get used to it.

COMPLAINED SEVERAL TIMES TO P.C. RICHARD RE NOISE LEVEL WHEN MOTOR IS RUNNING WHICH IS QUITE OFTEN.THE EVAP. MOTOR AND BLADE FAN WERE REPLACED TO NO AVAIL-IT IS STILL TOO LOUD. WE RPLACED A 25 YEAR+ MODEL WHIRLPOOL (SAME SIDE BY SIDE MODEL) WHICH WAS QUIET AND NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH. P.C. RICHARD INFORMED US THEY CANOT EXCHANGE THIS UNIT WITH ANOTHER SAME MODEL. WHO THEN IS OUR WARRANTY WITH? WE WENT TO LOWE'S WHERE THEIR UNITS ARE PLUGGED IN -SAME WHIRLPOOL UNIT EXCEPT WITH ICE MAKER WAS VERY QUIET. Door swing design flaw

Our refrigerator was installed the recommended and scheduled professional. When the door is opened more than half way, it swings out resulting in jerking of the hinges. This is an annoyance because you wonder if the jerking will eventually effect the mechanics of the hinges. Less noticeable Is the swing open on the freezer side. The store we bought it from sent out a fixer. He couldn't figure it out and told us to call Whirlpool. The customer service was excellent and they have a Whirlpool person coming to fix the problem in a couple of days. I went to Home Depot to test the swing on the side by sides and the swings were smooth and prevented jerking in full open. I'm hoping Whirlpool will correct the issue. Other than that, we are pleased with the refrigerator. I like the vegetable and fruit drawers. There is plenty of room. Note that the ice maker is a separate purchase which is about $100.00.

Bought our new appliance in September and am basically satisfied with it. My only issue is that when we open the refrigerator side it opens up against a wall. It does not have room to swing wide open and the shelves on the door are so deep that I have some difficulty getting to the back of the refrigerator. Also do not like the fact that the shelves are not flush against the back wall of the refrigerator. I have already had to pull the unit out in order to open the door all the way to pull the drawer units out in order to get some items that had fallen off the back of the one shelf. Not a good feature at all. Other than that it is working well and hope it lasts as long as our last refrigerator which was 31 years old!

Good performance but needs some design changes

I was afraid that stainless steel finish would require a lot of effort to maintain but it is not the case. It looks good with minimal wiping. The temperature settings are too sensitive to outside ambient temperature. There is room for another shelf in fridge section but it has not been supplied. Not sure why the manufacturer decided to do so. The unit was stored in wet basement and came with an awful smell that made me gag.

I have had my Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator for about a month. I am basically happy with it, other than the fact that the shelves do not pull out and that I now have it on the warmest setting and the freezer side is at 1 degree and the refrigerators side is at 30 degrees, so it is freezing my vegetables. I am going to call the repair service It's probably a quick fix.

Doesn't keep water cold

I bought this fridge around a month and a half ago. We've had it for about two weeks. (We actually have the 28.5 cb ft one) it seems ok. The water Ice dispenser when you press them manually are very hard to press and it does not keep the filtered water cold at all.

Fridge went dead in one month. 2 weeks for repair.

I chose this refrigerator because it did not have water dispenser and ice maker, which there are very limited choices on the market. I purchased the fridge at Home Depot and when the fridge went dead I spoke directly with Whirlpool. I was happy that the rep was easy to communicate with but she had me worried if the repair would be covered under warranty. She said the tech would decide. The soonest a tech could be scheduled was 1 week (there was no concern over loss of food) and when the tech determined the control board was bad (thankfully under warranty) it'd be another week to receive the part. It's working now and hope there's no further issues.

Good fridge for this size

With very limited space, there wasn't many choices in the market to choose from but since we had a Whirlpool which lasted more more than 20 years earlier, we opted to pick Whirlpool again. So far so good and it keeps everything chilled nicely. Noticeable difference esp from old one is the freezer. Freezes much faster than expected. Noise level is not bad-less noisier than the older model. Couple of points to reference: The bottom shelf due to the lighting fixture, has a gap so we keep dropping bottles and smaller items from the back of bottom shelf.; The doors don't close without extra shove unlike the older model so we have to keep reminding ourselves to manually push and close the doors. Hoping this one will last as long as the older one!

Good buy but does not have digital temp display

I bought this a month ago and the unit was delivered August 17. I had to purchase 3 separate freezer/refrigerator thermometers since there was no temperature display. The unit had a hard time achieving the desired operatin temperatures temperature but it seems to have attained it after around 5 days. Five (5) degree difference between the rear of the refrigerator and the door; door area is always warmer.

I didn't observe the problem until a few days after delivery on June 25 2019 when it not only reached operating temperature but I also stored some food inside the drawers. Both drawers can be either difficult to slide open and/or close due to in my opinion either a design or manufacturing problem. It appears that all of their 32 3/4 inch wide model use the same drawer design. I contacted Whirlpool customer service and what follows is what I wrote and their reply. I am disappointed withe stainless steel doors which need constant wiping to eliminate fingerprints. Refrigerator moves ev every time you open and shut the doors as the wheels cannot be locked.

Always wanted a side by side!

I really like the freezer on this. You can still fit a frozen pizza in it and all my favorites. I like how cold it keeps and don't have to worry about it not working! The fridge side takes some getting use to since my old one use to have the big fridge on top. I have to store things creatively with this one.

Replaced a 30 Year old unit. Getting adjusted to a side by side was only challenge. For a small unit it seems to have ample storage space. Easy access to all storage areas.

If you do not pass the stainless steel wipes on a daily basis throughout the refrigerator, the oxidation spots appear all the metal including the paint of poor quality, although it cools well

More space than my old refrigerator.

I like the refrigerator except that the compressor runs most of the time and is a bit loud. I have both freezer and refrigerator on lowest settings because I do not have it stuffed with food, just enough. The ice cream is so frozen I need to let it sit out for a while before dishing it out and the ice cubes grew upward icicles on the medium setting. Everything in refrigerator is cold enough on lowest setting.

First thing I asked the salesman at home Depot! Is it finger print resistant he said yes! Well I don't think it is! There's fingerprints all over the doors! That was a big deal for me! Other than that it's good fridge when you have limited space! I was told by a competitor that the model number does not reflect a fingerprint resistant unit!

Good Refrigerator

I like the side by side and that the door is smooth with no water maker. It actually has pretty good room, but it would be great if there was one more drawer. Need one for fruits, one for vegetables, and one for cheeses and cold cuts. Also, there is only one drawer you can adjust humidity. Only 2 drawers and only 1 has humidity control. Other than that it has a nice seal and fairly quiet.
