Ice maker is a piece of junk

This refrigerator is only 8 months old and every 6 to 8 weeks the ice machine stops making ice, and I have to remove the bin several times to get it started again. It always seems to run out of ice when we need it the most.......grrr..so frustrating!

Very disappointed in the quality

Purchased a little over a year ago. When we changed the filter after 6 months, the arm that pushes out the filter broke. Called the help line and they offered no help. One month after the warranty expired, the ice maker stopped working. Tried all the troubleshooting in the manual, nothing helped. Called regarding the warranty since it was only a month after it expired and was told that I could extend the warranty for a fee, but the ice maker problem wouldn't be covered. Ice maker started working on its own after a couple of days. Now, two months later, the ice maker isn't working again - it's been 4 days so it doesn't look like it's going to magically start working again. We've always had Whirlpool refrigerators and they seem to be poorer quality with each new refrigerator we've purchased over the years-will have to purchase a different brand in the future.

We bought the frig liking the look and function of it, but found out upon delivery from the delivery man that the surface scratches easily. He said to be careful when opening the doors, especially when wearing rings. Finding out that fingernails will also scratch the surface.

I upgraded my purchase to the gray metallic finish. Unbeknownst to me was that just the doors have the upgraded gray metallic finish. The side of the fridge is black plastic. Disappointed! The water dispensed is not good. It has a funny taste to it even though I changed the filter upon receiving it. Disappointed. The shelving system employed is odd as well. Overall, a big disappointment! Do not buy.

We replaced a 25-year-old Kitchenaid with top freezer that kept draining water onto the fridge food below. The side-by-side configuration makes it much easier to locate stored food for three people with differing dietary requirements.

What a nightmare! We purchased this through Inside Pass. It was supposed to be delivered mid January. They contract with the most inept/cheapest company they can find. After numerous attempts the refrigerator was finally delivered end of March and my walls were damaged. The ice maker does not work at all. We waited a week so they could send someone out to take a look. Gee, the ice maker needs a part that they can't seem to locate. So, after dealing with rude customer service people we are on an indefinite wait the elusive part. The company they have contacted with is as inept as the delivery company. There is no one in any department that can give you a definitive answer. There is no excuse for a brand new appliance to ever be sent out when there is something major wrong with it.

We absolutely love our new refrigerator, it has so much usable storage space. It even has a flip up section in the freezer that is perfect for larger frozen pizzas. Love the ice maker and how it is all contained in the freezer door and doesn't waste any valuable freezer space.

When our fridge went out unexpectedly and we had to run out and get a new one asap I couldnt do much research. This whirlpool is wonderful. Its a darker color than we had but looks good. Its quiet,fits perfectly, and has lots of room. I love the teo door setup with the freezer on the side. The old one had a drawer, not as user friendly as you would think. Im still getting used to the crushed ice but it is wonderful for margaritas. It even uses less energy than the old one.Perfect fridge, hopefully we will get another 20 years from this one!

Too noisy! Installed in December and serviced in January. They took care of by replacing a part, but still too noisy. The ice and water dispenser does not have a removable drip tray. We get some shaved ice even thou we always want cubed. Love the color and the overall quality of Whirlpool.

Constant Humm noise

I've only had this for 1 week and decided yesterday to have it returned as I can't take the constant humm (loud to me) that it makes when the condenser is running, and it's designed to run most of the time. I have an open floor plan off the kitchen and can constantly hear it( however my wife doesn't unless she's right in front of the fridge) Weird!! This is the 1st big appliance I have ever had returned in my life. Besides the noise I really like everything else about this fridge and it's design. Possible I just got a bad one, but have read other reviews about the noise so instead of switching out to try another I decided to go with a different brand. To bad as most other appliances I have are whirlpool

Trouble

Had this a week. Ice cubes fall out randomly, melt on the floor. I don't want to slip and fall. First repairman turned down the water supply. Ice cubes still fall out. Try and get water, makes noises, goes off and on and sounds like water line is rattling. Another repairman coming Wed. It's louder now also. Can't adjust any of the shelves. Not real happy with this purchase yet.
